1st September 2011 Spring is Here

Spring is Here Spring is here! or at least it is where I live which is Brisbane in Australia, so happy first day of (southern hemisphere) spring.

Today’s photo is an abstract view of the season of spring which needs the pun to be pardoned.

Spring is here and that means for us all the joys of spring including stepping foot in the swimming pool and going to the beach. It also means for me, more lovely weddings and portraits than normal. Bring it on. It amazes me why more people do not get married in the winter because a winter wedding here in Brisbane is wonderful. Ok maybe my view is affected by my upbringing in London, but as far as I am concerned our winter weddings are just great.

So with spring comes more weddings and portraits and that suites me down to the ground and I am one happy photographer. If I had my wish come true than I would shoot weddings and portraits every day of the week, but for now I will be happy with the increase that spring brings.

Tech Stuff
Canon G11
f/2.8 to blur the background so only the rear of the top of the spring is in focus
Large LED video light to sidelight the spring on my back deck
Image warmed up in photoshop afterwards to give a warm spring feel
